Trusted in Manchester since 1995
North West Circumcisions was the first clinic to provide religious and cultural circumcision in Manchester. Today, Dr Ahmed Abid offers the same expert, compassionate care in a calm, CQC-registered clinic in Stretford — for infant boys aged 12 months and under.
Why families choose us
Choosing circumcision for your son is a meaningful decision. Our role is to make the experience safe, clear, and reassuring from your first call through to full healing.
Our clinic is registered with the Care Quality Commission and led by a GMC-registered doctor. Procedures use sterile, single-use instruments under strict aseptic conditions.
The first clinic to offer this service in Manchester, established in 1995. Dr Abid has performed the Plastibell procedure for families across the North West and beyond.
The doctor fully explains the procedure and any potential complications before written consent is taken from both parents. You will never feel rushed.
Carried out under local anaesthetic using the Plastibell ring method — the most widely used technique for infant circumcision in the UK and USA.
You receive written aftercare guidance, a letter for your GP, a free follow-up check, and a 24-hour emergency phone line for complete peace of mind.
We care for a diverse community — Muslim, Jewish and Christian families of Indo-Pakistani, Arab, African and wider heritage. Everyone is met with respect.
What to expect
Infant circumcision does not need a hospital setting. It is a relatively minor procedure carried out under local anaesthetic, and in the UK is mainly offered in private clinics like ours.
On the day, the doctor explains everything, takes written consent from both parents, and performs the procedure using sterile single-use instruments. Afterwards you are given full verbal and written aftercare, a GP letter, and a follow-up appointment.
